Flag reminder. Tuesday, July 4, is Independence Day, one of six days each year Postal Service facilities are required to fly the POW-MIA flag.

The flag honors the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action.

Facilities that are open July 4 must display the POW-MIA flag. The POW-MIA flag must fly below the U.S. flag.

Berry good. The Postal Service recently held a special dedication for the new Strawberries stamp at a strawberry festival in Troy, OH.

The 3-cent additional postage stamp features three ripe, red strawberries surrounded by leaves and hulls, and three smaller, green strawberries in various stages of growth.
