Lisa Page, a retail associate in tiny Piseco, NY, is a compassionate person who keeps track of her customers, according to local Postmaster Elizabeth Knapp.
That’s why Page was worried recently when one of her regulars — a man in his 80s who lives alone — hadn’t stopped by in a couple of days as he normally did.
Page contacted the county sheriff’s office to ask someone to check on the customer, and the responding deputy discovered that the man was in dire need of medical attention for kidney failure and other health issues.
Members of the customer’s family later visited the Post Office to thank Page.
“They were extremely grateful for Lisa’s life-saving decision,” Knapp said.
“She is an outstanding person who cares about her community, and we are very proud of her,” she added.
