Scanning, service and stamp updates

Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending April 7, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.79 percent during the week ending April 7, up from one week earlier.

Dakotas (98.99 percent) topped the districts, while Western (98 percent) led the areas.

Scores and standings change continually. To see the latest results, go to the Enterprise Analytics site and select “Scanning” on the left hand side, and then “DES 2 — Scan Performance” from the drop-down options.

Service suspended. USPS has suspended most mail services to Guatemala until further notice.

The suspension affects Priority Mail Express International, Priority Mail International, First-Class Mail International, First-Class Package International Service, International Priority Airmail, International Surface Air Lift, and M-Bag items.

Global Express Guaranteed service is still available.

Celebrate good times. USPS will release its Celebration Corsage and Celebration Boutonniere stamps May 2.

The Celebration Corsage 2-ounce stamp can accommodate the weight of heavy invitations for birthdays, weddings and other celebrations; oversized greeting cards; and mailings that require extra postage.

The Celebration Boutonniere stamp can be used for wedding RSVP cards, party invitations, thank-you notes and other occasions.
