A woman who was recently on her way to see her father found him collapsed on a street in his quiet Fairport, NY, neighborhood.
As she struggled to lift him, Letter Carrier Andrew King passed by while delivering mail. He stopped to offer assistance, called 911 and rendered first aid when the man began throwing up, making sure he was turned on his side so he wouldn’t choke.
“Andrew is very thoughtful and always has a smile that is contagious,” said Postmaster Tina Boyd-Bauer.
“His colleagues and I admire his work ethic, and we are proud to call him a hero and a friend.”
