A typical lunch break at the North Houston Processing and Distribution Center recently took a life-threatening turn when an employee started choking.
In-Plant Support Manager Harold Speights saw an administrative assistant, Barbara Pierce, struggling to dislodge the food herself.
He rushed to her side and performed the Heimlich maneuver until the obstruction was cleared and she could breathe again.
“Harold brushed off credit,” said Operations Support Specialist Jaime Elizondo. “But everyone who witnessed the heroic act knows he saved Barbara’s life.”
