USPS wins award, offers tips

Top 125 USPS Leadership and Development award
USPS Learning and Development recently received a Top 125 Award for excellence in the training industry.

Top training. The USPS Learning and Development team recently won a Top 125 Award, one of the training industry’s highest honors.

USPS ranked 113th among the 125 organizations that received the award, which recognizes the most successful corporate learning and development programs.

Honorees are evaluated on their training program’s scope, budget, tuition reimbursement, infrastructure and delivery methods, evaluation and measurement practices, and human resources functions.

“It’s a big achievement we can all be proud of,” said Learning and Development Manager Susan McKeen. “This recognition testifies to the team’s strong commitment to supporting USPS employees.”

Bummed out. The Postal Bulletin’s latest edition reminds employees not to “bum” plastic storage sacks.

Previously, when storage sacks were made of canvas and nylon, as many as 19 would be stuffed — or “bummed” — into an empty sack and returned to mailbag depositories for storage until they were needed again.

The March 2 cover story cautions doing the same to plastic sacks reduces their usefulness and can hide mailpieces from employees.
