A customer in Ellsworth, KS, didn’t have a phone when he began to feel ill, but he had dependable mail delivery.
As Letter Carrier Chad Petz approached the customer, he noticed the man didn’t look well and told him to sit down.
After the man told Petz his blood pressure readings and that he was diabetic, Petz called 911 and stayed with the customer until emergency responders arrived.
“Chad is a great employee and I am proud of his response that day. He reacted calmly and quickly,” said Postmaster Karen Goddard.
“This customer was lucky to have Chad at his doorstep to call for help.”
