Emergency responders in Mena, AR, recently credited a postal employee with saving the life of woman who’d been stranded for two days after a fall.
Letter Carrier Sandra Emerson decided to check on the woman after noticing that her mail was piling up. She knew that the customer was older and lived alone, and the accumulation was unusual.
Emerson found the woman on the floor, called 911 and stayed with her until an ambulance arrived.
“One of the EMTs came in to tell me that without Sandra’s help, the customer would not have made it,” said Postmaster Penny Craig.
