Peace of mind

Informed Delivery helps user focus on work

Although Niconar Aldana is frequently away from home, he always knows what’s arriving in his mailbox, thanks to Informed Delivery.

The optional, free feature from USPS provides participating residential consumers like Aldana with a digital preview of their incoming mail.

Users receive images of the outside of their household’s letter-sized mailpieces before they arrive in their physical mailbox. These images are available via email notification or an online dashboard at

Aldana, a writer, likes that the notifications arrive in the morning. If he sees that a mailpiece hasn’t arrived as expected, he can contact the sender to check on its status.

“I get a head start on my day, which is what I really need,” Aldana says in a new video.

He also uses the feature to confirm when mailpieces have arrived on time.

“Being able to check my mail and see what’s there kind of gives me peace of mind,” he says.

Informed Delivery, which is currently available in select ZIP Codes, will expand nationally by late April.

The Informed Delivery sites on Blue and LiteBlue have more information for employees.
