After mailing multiple packages containing thousands of dollars in cash — their entire life savings — a California couple recently realized they were victims of a scam.
They contacted the Postal Service in hopes of retrieving the last package they’d sent, before it reached its destination on the East Coast.
Edison, NJ, Customer Care Center Supervisor Dinah Daniel took over the call from an agent and worked with multiple offices over the next five days to ensure that the package was intercepted and returned to the couple.
“They expressed their appreciation for the entire organization,” said Daniel’s manager, Chris Byrd. “But they were especially grateful for the diligence, empathy and compassion Dinah displayed while helping them recover the last of their savings.”
