An apparent fall while exiting her car recently left a woman seriously hurt on a Jasper, IN, street.
When City Carrier Assistant Barrett Wright discovered her lying facedown on the pavement while delivering mail, he called 911, comforted her until emergency responders arrived, and helped them immobilize her back and get her into an ambulance.
Jasper Postmaster Denise Lindsey says Wright is an “outstanding young man” who drew on previous work in the medical field to manage the crisis.
“Not only is he a hero to this Post Office,” she added, “he is a representative of the heroic acts that countless Postal Service employees do every year.”
