President Obama has ordered flags returned to full-staff, effective Dec. 17 at sunset.
Flags began flying at half-staff Dec. 9 to honor John Glenn, who died this month at age 95. Glenn was honored at a series of memorials during the weekend and will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring.
Glenn — a pioneering astronaut, political leader and war hero — also was part of postal history.
