The Postal Service is seeking recently retired employees who are interested in becoming temporary employees during this year’s holiday season.

Retired employees who participated in last year’s peak season are invited to again work this year as city carrier assistants, holiday clerk assistants or motor vehicle operators.

In addition, this year the Postal Service is seeking retired supervisors and managers who have retired in the past three years to supervise holiday operations.

In 2015, the Postal Service hired nearly 29,000 seasonal workers to perform as mail handlers, retail associates, tractor trailer drivers and city carrier assistants.

This holiday season, the Postal Service plans to hire between 35,000-40,000 seasonal workers to process and deliver holiday cards and packages.

To apply, interested retirees should go to usps.com and click “careers” under “USPS JOBS” at the bottom left of the page.
