Post Offices across the nation are holding workshops to show rural businesses how they can use USPS products and services to attract more customers from around the globe.
The free, day-long Grow Your Business workshops will be held through Aug. 31 at 60 postal locations, mostly in rural areas.
“Our goal is to make expanding into foreign markets easier than ever imagined for rural entrepreneurs and businesses,” DPMG Ronald Stroman said.
Workshop participants will learn about selling products online and exporting, as well as how to file customs forms digitally, how to calculate export shipping costs, and USPS global shipping products.
“Local Postmasters will demonstrate how to use online tools for easier mailing prep and educate attendees on global shipping options,” Stroman said.
The workshops are part of the Obama administration’s Made in Rural America initiative, which brings together federal resources to help rural communities gain access to new markets.
The White House Rural Council is organizing the effort.
Announcements about forthcoming workshops are listed under individual state names in the online USPS Newsroom’s Local News section.
