They did it.
As expected, Lansing, IL, Letter Carrier Jamie Parks and his wife Lynn recently logged their 25,000th mile on their 25th anniversary racing together.
The couple celebrated the achievement with their 17-year-old daughter, Annalyn, cheering them on.
“I love my wife, and I love my daughter. I couldn’t imagine a better scenario than how our lives have turned out,” Jamie told Runner’s World magazine.
Jamie, a 35-year USPS veteran, and Lynn have been together since 1985. They married after Lynn suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident that limited her ability to walk and speak.
Inspired by Lynn’s determination, Jamie, an avid runner, decided they should enter a race.
He pushed his wife in a wheelchair during a 10K in 1991. They’ve competed in multiple marathons since then.
“My wife is the hero. Without her, I’m just a mailman who runs,” Jamie said.
