A change in routine recently became even more unusual for Ringtown, PA, Postmaster James Briel II.
While on detail with Central Pennsylvania District’s Information Technology department, Briel was commuting to Harrisburg early one morning when he noticed car lights in brush alongside the road.
Realizing the car had crashed, Briel stopped and found the driver incapacitated.
Briel, who serves as a first aid trainer in the Ringtown area, administered first aid while another passerby called 911.
Briel also helped emergency responders remove the injured driver from the vehicle, which had to be cut open.
