When a customer heard Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Letter Carrier Gregory Loughlin shut the mailbox after delivering mail recently, he knew help was near.
The man, who had fallen inside his home and suffered an immobilizing back injury, called out to Loughlin and implored him for assistance.
Loughlin went to his side, called 911 and the man’s wife, and stayed with him until emergency responders arrived.
“It may have been 20 minutes out of my day, but I felt really good about having helped one of our customers,” Loughlin said.
