When a customer recently attempted to cash a $480 money order, Batesburg-Leesville, SC, retail associates Vera Bair and Janie Hallman inspected it and suspected it had been altered. They alerted Customer Services Supervisor Tina Chapman, who confirmed the alteration with the originating Post Office. She also contacted postal inspectors and local authorities, who arrived in time to make an arrest.
