This year’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive will feature a new twist.
The annual drive, which will be held Saturday, May 14, allows USPS employees to collect food donations from customers. The donations are then distributed to local food banks.
This year, customers in San Francisco, parts of New York City and Greenwich, CT, also will be able to make online donations through Amp Your Good, a company that provides fresh fruits and vegetables to food banks.
The National Association of Letter Carriers, which sponsors the food drive with the Postal Service, announced the partnership with Amp Your Good this week.
The drive, now in its 24th year, has collected 1.4 billion pounds of food, including more than 70 million pounds last year.
