Boca Raton, FL, Letter Carrier Richard Herrera recently helped a 5-year-old girl after she was dropped off at the wrong bus stop.
The girl was scared and didn’t know where she was. When she spotted Herrera, she recognized the letter carrier and ran to him, crying. Herrera calmed her down, tied her shoe and stayed with her until her uncle found her.
The girl’s grandmother wrote a letter to Postmaster Carlos Rodon Jr. to thank Herrera.
“I don’t know what would [have] happened that day had he not been there to help,” the grandmother wrote. “Thank you to the entire Postal Service for their hard work and dedication. They continue to go above and beyond.”
