Employees urged to learn about pre-diabetes

Without intervention, pre-diabetics can develop Type 2 diabetes.

USPS encourages employees to learn about pre-diabetes, a medical condition in which sugar levels are higher than normal but not enough to be classified as diabetes.

At least 1 in 3 people in the United States have pre-diabetes. Symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue and blurred vision.

Pre-diabetes can be reversed with proper treatment and lifestyle changes.

The key is to know your health numbers and seek preventative care if necessary. Without intervention, 15-20 percent of pre-diabetics will develop Type 2 diabetes within 5 years.
