The national scanning rating for the week ending Feb. 12 was 96.96 percent, virtually unchanged from the previous week.
Scores remained tight among the area and district leaders:
- The top four areas reached or exceeded 97 percent. Western (97.59 percent) held onto first place, followed by Eastern (97.14 percent), Southern (97.08 percent) and Great Lakes (97 percent).
- Thirty-nine districts reached or exceeded 97 percent. The top three districts were Portland (98.09 percent), Arkansas (98 percent) and Dakotas (97.9 percent).
Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
