More than 100 countries across the world will promote cybersecurity Feb. 9, which is Safer Internet Day.
To keep Postal Service information resources secure, the Cyber Safe at USPS team suggests these tips:
- Be certain you recognize the email address or the name of the sender before opening an email.
- Review the greeting when deciding if a message is secure.
- Be wary of communications that require “immediate action” or request personal information via email.
- Evaluate links and attachments embedded in email messages. Before you click, make sure any link or attachment is from a reliable source before opening.
Call 866-877-7247 or email the USPS Computer Incident Response Team to report information security incidents.
