Do you know what to do if there’s a fire in your workplace?

Egress: Safe Evacuation,” a new “Safety Depends on Me” video, shows why it’s important for employees to quickly exit buildings during fire emergencies.

The video offers tips and preventive measures, such as:

  • Be sure an adequate number of fire extinguishers are available and in working order.
  • Assign personnel to help during emergencies.
  • Clearly mark exit signs. Also, be sure exit doors are unlocked and clear of mail transport equipment and other obstructions. If there’s a fire, immediately evacuate the building until the fire is extinguished and the area is ventilated.
