World Suicide Prevention Day is held each Sept 10 to raise awareness and encourage people to get help.
If you’re concerned someone you know is having suicidal thoughts, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) recommends talking to them. If you have a long history with the person, you could help them feel comfortable discussing their feelings.
“If you’re concerned about your own thoughts and feelings, understand that you aren’t alone and that recovery is possible,” said EAP Administrator Debbie Atkins. “Suicide is too big to deal with all by yourself, so please get help.”
