Western Area (96.66 percent) and Hawkeye District (97.62 percent) led the scanning performance standings during the week ending Aug. 29.
Eastern Area (96.22 percent) was second among areas. Capital Metro Area, with a rating of 96.15 percent, finished third.
Meanwhile, Mid-America District (97.48 percent) rose from seventh to second place. Northland District, with performance rating of 97.26 percent, climbed three spots to take third.
The national rating was 95.85 percent, down sharply from one week earlier.
Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
