The Postal Service has dedicated two stamps to honor next year’s World Stamp Show in New York City and issued an Ingrid Bergman stamp.
The World Stamp Show-NY 2016 stamps, reminiscent of engraved 19th-century stamps and banknotes, were introduced Aug. 20 at the American Philatelic Society Stamp Show in Grand Rapids, MI.
The stamps are sold in sheets of 20, alternating evenly between red and blue versions.
The World Stamp Show — the largest international philatelic event — is held once every decade. More than 250,000 visitors are expected to attend next year’s show, slated for May 28-June 4.
Additionally, USPS and PostNord of Sweden jointly issued stamps Aug. 20 to honor Bergman, the beloved Swedish-born actress.
The Postal Service’s stamp, announced in June, features a 1940s image of Bergman. The stamp is the 19th entry in the Legends of Hollywood series.
PostNord issued two stamps: one based on the image used for the U.S. version and another that features a stylized portrait of the actress.
The World Stamp Show and U.S. Bergman stamps can be purchased online and at Post Offices nationwide.
