When Ohio Valley District Sales Executive Linda Mercer learned a Dayton, OH-based promotional company wanted to expand its international business, she saw an opportunity for USPS.
The executives were considering using the Postal Service’s competitors for overseas shipments, but Mercer explained how Priority Mail International is a better alternative.
She received help from Johnstown, PA, International Sales Executive Alan Pelesky, who provided the company with a tool they could use to educate customers about duties and other international taxes and fees.
The executives decided to go with the Postal Service, generating $500,000 in annual revenue for USPS.
“Educating this customer on our international capabilities allowed the company to realize substantial cost savings over UPS and FedEx,” Mercer said.
