Ingrid Bergman will be featured on the 19th stamp in the Legends of Hollywood series, the Postal Service announced June 25.
The stamp, a joint issue by USPS and Posten AB of Sweden, will go on sale Aug. 20.
The stamp will feature a circa 1940 image of Bergman by photographer Laszlo Willinger. Artist Kristen Monthei digitally colorized the image, as well as the picture on the stamp sheet, which will show Bergman from one of her most famous films, “Casablanca.”
Bergman, known for her elegant and graceful acting ability, starred in a variety of European and American films.
In addition to “Casablanca” (1942), she is best remembered for her roles in “Gaslight” (1944), “Notorious” (1946) and “Anastasia” (1956).
Past Legends of Hollywood stamps have featured Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, Alfred Hitchcock, John Wayne, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Bette Davis, among many others.
