The Postal Regulatory Commission approved proposed prices and classifications for Standard Mail, Periodicals and Package Services May 7.
These changes will take effect May 31, along with pricing and classification changes for market-dominant mail classes and competitive products.
In a statement, the Postal Service said the changes will allow USPS “to move forward with a new pricing strategy to capitalize on strong mail and package growth.”
The Postal Service also will move forward with this year’s remaining industry promotions.
More information on the new pricing and the PRC’s ruling is available on the agency’s site.
