Postal Service information technology applications have resumed after experiencing an unplanned communications outage Feb. 12.
The outage mostly affected administrative programs, such as Internet access, email and WebEx. Payroll systems were not affected.
Operations remained unchanged — the Postal Service continued to accept, process and deliver mail and packages.
The outage was not related to a cyber-intrusion incident.
The Postal Service regrets the inconvenience this caused employees and customers. USPS thanks employees for their individual and collective efforts to maintain service for customers
