The Springdale, AR, Post Office generated $1.1 million in Business Connect revenue during the previous fiscal year, exceeding Postmaster Timothy “Doc” Marion’s goal by more than $141,000.
Business Connect encourages Postmasters and station managers to meet with small businesses in their communities.
Marion visited three to 10 businesses each month and submitted Business Connect sales leads as often as possible. He also visited businesses served by competitors to encourage them to switch to USPS.
One of Marion’s top selling points: The Postal Service offers flexible courtesy mail pickups, which competitors are not always willing to do.
To close large sales, Marion received assistance from Sr. Sales Executive Kathy Duncan and Sr. Sales Representative Nikki Allen, who are based in Little Rock.
“My staff and I are really pleased we achieved our $1 million goal. We look forward to continuing our work to serve the businesses of our community,” Marion said.
