Bogus emails may carry virus software

Consumer alerts

Postal Inspectors are warning customers to take a closer look at emails claiming to be from USPS before clicking any links.

Recently, some customers received bogus emails about package deliveries or online postage charges. The emails contain instructions to click a link or attachment that, when opened, installs a malicious virus that can steal personal information.

Customers should delete the message if they are suspicious.

For questions or more information, call 800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777) or email spam@uspis.gov.
