Santa’s job wasn’t done Dec. 24. His helpers at the Postal Service delivered 118,000 packages Christmas Day.
Many of the employees who made these deliveries donned white beards and red suits, delighting their customers. Some employees wore Santa suits over their postal uniforms throughout the holiday season.
“When you see people get surprised and their faces light up, it makes it all worth it,” Reading, PA, Letter Carrier Erik Roshong told the Reading Eagle.
The Postal Service set records and exceeded its projections during the holidays, as employees delivered approximately 524 million packages in December — an 18 percent increase over the previous year.
