While delivering mail recently, Noble Shore, OH, Letter Carrier James Salter saw a diaper-clad toddler walking in the street.
Salter put the boy in his vehicle to keep him warm and called the Post Office.
Managers alerted police, who found a man searching for the child. The parents and the boy were reunited, and police thanked Salter and USPS for their help.
“James went above and beyond his duty,” Customer Services Manager Colette Pinkston-Jackson said. “He distinguished himself and advanced the image of the Postal Service in our community.”
